I don't know why people laugh at me when I say I would love a nice, warm Horlicks but I love that stuff so much! I've been thinking of ways to use Horlicks other than as a warm drink so adding it to porridge oats just seemed like a great idea, and IT WAS. At ~307 calories, which includes the toppings, it's such a delicious breakfast. 40gr traditional rolled oats
185ml almond milk
15gr Horlicks original powder
1tsp homemade chia jam
sprinkle of chia seeds
dash of ground cinnamon
In a small saucepan, add oats and almond milk. On low-medium heat, simmer for around 2-5 minutes until the porridge is at the consistency you desire.
Add Horlicks powder and whisk or mix really well using your wooden spoon / spatula. Once incorporated, tip into bowl.
Take the teaspoon of chia jam and swirl it through your oats. Top with strawberries, blueberries and add a sprinkle of chia seeds and ground cinnamon. Enjoy ASAP!
